Assistant Vice President of Lending

POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for planning and organizing activities involving consumer, mortgage, credit card, lending support, and the collection of delinquent loans. Oversees the management of indirect lending relationships. Advises the Vice President of Lending and Operations regarding lending policies and procedures. Recommends, directs, and manages changes or improvements on lending projects and product development as it relates to operational considerations, training and implementation. Decision loan exceptions for both real estate and consumer loans within established guidelines. Assigns, directs, coordinates, and reviews work of management staff for each department, ensuring that each manager is properly operating in accordance with Credit Union Policy. Recommends division goals, personnel performance expectations, and appropriate staffing levels. SCOPE Directly responsible for the quality of work of several departments. This includes oversight of training and supervision of all department managers, the communication of service goals and standards, and the monitoring of staff performance to these expectations. Makes recommendations for lending changes and product development. REQUIRED: TO QUALIFY FOR THIS DYNAMIC POSITION •Minimum 5 years managerial experience. Strongly prefer at least 2 years experience as an AVP in a financial institution. •Business degree preferred. •Strong project management skills. •Must have excellent interpersonal, motivational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills. •A solid knowledge of Lending (real estate and consumer), Collections, and Federal regulations (including DFI and NCUA rules and policies). •Must be capable of uniformly directing the activities of subordinates and handling a large volume of details •Capable of analyzing financial/statistical data •Must be proficient in the use of standard business applications in a Windows-based environment (i.e., MS Word, Excel).
