You may have recently been sent a new EMV chip SMCU Direct Check debit card.  Now is the time to start using this new card.  It’s the latest in cyber security technology and protects you and your transactions from fraud. 

Start to use your NEW card today!  

Activate your card by calling (866) 762-0558 from the primary phone number we have on record.  You will need to provide the last 4 digits of the primary account holder’s social security number (*a business debit card requires the last four of the federal tax identification number or EIN (employer identification number)). 

Important
In order to activate your card, you'll need to have a current phone number on record:

  • This can be a home or cell phone number.
  • Log into SMCU OnLine and confirm your current primary phone number by clicking on Settings in the upper right corner.
  • Click on Profile, then Email and Phone Number.
  • Update your contact information then click Save.
  • After updating your phone number, it may take up to 24 hours before you can activate your card.

Obtaining a PIN  

You will be able to choose a PIN or update your PIN when you call (866) 762-0558. If your current card has recently expired and the reissued card is not a new debit card number, then you’ll be able to use the same PIN number as your previous card. 

And remember to update any reoccurring payments you may have set-up using your SMCU Direct Check debit card.  Sign the back of your new debit card and don’t forget to destroy your old card.
